Why do iPhone and iPad scans differ from Mac scans?
iOS and iPadOS restrict some low-level network information. LAN Scout uses the available local network APIs and probes on each platform, so a Mac may show details that iPhone and iPad cannot access directly.
Are scan results sent anywhere?
No. LAN Scout processes scan results on your device. Results leave your device only if you choose to export or share them.
Why are some devices missing names or vendors?
Some devices do not advertise hostnames or services, and some platforms restrict MAC address access. LAN Scout shows the best available details for each discovered device.
